Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie says Jamaicans who continue to dispose of their garbage illegally will pay dearly for their actions.

Mr. McKenzie says the government will be implementing the long awaited increased anti-litter fines to help protect the environment.

He was speaking on a tour of sections, of Montego Bay following recent heavy rains, which left the second city devastated by flood waters, believed to be associated with poor waste disposal practices.
