Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie is to make a statement in parliament tomorrow (Apl 25) on measures to assuage the effects of recent flood rains.

Mr. McKenzie held an emergency meeting with the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management to chart the way forward.

Clarendon, Portland and St. Thomas were hit hard following several days of rains which intensified over the weekend.

The heavy rains left some homes almost completely submerged and roads either blocked or damaged.

Mr. McKenzie is expected to outline the steps that will be taken to bring relief to affected persons.
