Jamaica’s three member triathlon team of Phillip Mcarthy , Jonathan Lyn and Lori Sharpe  are  returning to the island this afternoon after experiencing mixed fortunes  at the Caribbean and Americas Triathalon  meet in Barbados on the weekend.

Sharpe in her first sojourn with the elite group was the best placed Jamaican with  a  creditable 4th place finish in her event,  clocking 1 hour 13 minutes and 17 seconds after leading her group in the second wave of swimmers  and finishing strongly in the run.

Lyn’s baptism with the big boys however proved disappointing as he was lapped and pulled from the event, while his teammate Mcarthy suffered a similar fate.

Both male triathletes suffered penalties for mounting their bikes inside the transition zone.
