The Lower House yesterday (July 19) passed an order brought by the Finance Minister to further reduce the import duty on electric vehicles from 30 to 10 per cent.

The House also approved an order to eliminate licence fees for electric vehicles for 5 years.

Dr Nigel Clarke told the House that the reduction and fee relief applies to electric vehicles that are three years old or less.
