Magnificent Hansle!

Hansle Parchment struck gold for Jamaica at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics storming to victory in the men’s 110 meters hurdles on Thursday August 5, 2021.

The St Thomas native who was a bronze medal winner from the London 2012 Olympics, produced his customary late surge to pip World Champion Grant Holloway of the United States, and Jamaica’s Commonwealth Games Champion Ronald Levy.

The Fitz Coleman coached Parchment clocked a season’s best 13.05 seconds in taking the event with Holloway timed at 13.09 seconds and Levy 13.10 meters.

31 year old Parchment who also won silver at the 2015 World Championships, becomes the second Jamaican to win the 110 hurdles at the Olympics, following on the heels of Omar McLeod who secured the title at the Rio games in 2016.
