President of the Medical Association of Jamaica, Dr. Andrew Manning says given the confirmation of the presence of the Delta variant in Jamaica, the authorities should issue a work from home order.

Speaking with Irie Fm News, Dr. Manning says this development confirms what has been suspected for some time, that is, that a more virulent and contagious strain of the virus has been in the island.

He states that with the confirmation, compliance with the Covid protocols is even more critical at this time.

Dr. Manning says the government must rethink its strategies for containing the spread of the virus.
