President of the Medical Association of Jamaica, Dr. Andrew Manning says hospitals are under pressure as Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations continue to rise.
The latest data from the Health Ministry show that 256 persons are hospitalized with Covid-19.
Speaking during an interview with Irie Fm News this morning (August 7), Dr. Manning said Jamaica is now experiencing a third Covid wave.
He said the increase in cases and hospitalizations are a cause for concern.
Dr. Manning is renewing his call for the government to re-institute tighter Covid measures.
He is also urging citizens to obey the protocols.
