Makhaya Ntini steps down from his role as Zimbabwe bowling coach

Former South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini has stepped down from his role as Zimbabwe bowling coach after two years with the African nation, including a short spell as interim head coach.

Ntini filled in following Dav Whatmore’s departure in May 2016, with heath streak taking on the permanent head coach role five months later.

Ntini originally signed a two-year deal with Zimbabwe, but the 40-year-old who played 101 tests for the Proteas, has opted not to renew terms.

Zimbabwe will open their 2018 season with a one day international tri-series on January 15 in Bangladesh which will include the hosts and Sri Lanka.
