The constabulary communications unit has confirmed reports that a male toddler was accidentally shot at his home in Portmore, St. Catherine earlier today (Aug 18).

Details of the incident are not yet available.

Irie FM News understands that the child is about 5 years old and is the son of a police officer.

The identity of the boy has not been released.
