Man accused of killing his wife held while attempting to flee island

Police say the man suspected of killing his wife in St. Elizabeth this morning (Feb 15) was held at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston, earlier this afternoon.

The 53-year-old man is accused of shooting his estranged wife, 49 year old businesswoman Morin Williams in Seaview, St. Elizabeth.

Reports are that about 6:30 am, Mrs. Williams, who drives a minibus, was about to leave home to do her usual pick-ups of school children, when she encountered her estranged husband who had broken into her vehicle.

He reportedly shot her several times.

Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Area 3, Clifford Chambers, says the man was held sometime after 3 o’clock this afternoon, by airport police as he attempted to board a flight to the United States.

Irie FM News understands that the two had an unresolved domestic situation.
