A man and his wife were stabbed to death and their son has been taken into police custody.

The incident occurred in Christian Meadows, St. Catherine this morning.

The deceased are 69-year-old Cecil Ramsey, a minister of religion, and 55-year-old Phyliss Ramsey, an acting vice-principal of a preparatory school, both of Christian Meadows.

Head of the St. Catherine South police, Superintendent Christopher Phillips says about 4 this morning, officers responded to what was reported to be a motor vehicle accident in Dunbeholden. On getting to the scene, they found blood on the vehicle.

Superintendent Phillips says a meeting was held with residents this morning, who are disturbed over the incident.

The commanding officer is renewing his call for public education about mental health challenges.
