Man killed over bottle of rum & Bahamian shot dead in Westmoreland

The Westmoreland police have launched investigations into 3 separate murder incidents that occurred between Thursday and Friday.

Those killed are 32 year old Andrae Darren otherwise called wacky of west end in Negril; an unidentified man, and Bahamian national 32 year old Kareem James.

In the first incident, on Thursday, reports are that Darren was at a party in Negril when a dispute developed between him and another man over a bottle of rum, after one man accused the other of stealing it.

The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation during which a knife was brought into play, and Darren was stabbed in the upper body.

Darren was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police were summoned and following investigations the attacker was taken into custody.

In the second incident also on Thursday, reports are that residents of the Maxfield community noticed a foul odour.

Further reports are that a farmer on his way to his farm observed a decomposing body and raised an alarm.

The unidentified man, said to be of dark complexion, was clad in a green shirt, a pair of multi coloured boxer shorts, and a pair of sneakers.

The police were summoned and the body removed to the morgue.

Then on Friday, reports are that about 8:30 a.m. the Bahamian national, and another man were standing along a roadway in the Delta community, when a car drove up and men on board opened fire at the 2.

James, who was reportedly staying with relatives in Jamaica, while working at a construction site, was pronounced dead at hospital.

The other man has been admitted in critical condition.
