Police have charged a hotel worker in connection with the rape of two American women at a resort in St. James just over a week ago.

He is 24 year old entertainment coordinator Demar Dowe Scott otherwise called Ninja of Comfort District, Manchester.

Detectives attached to the St. James Criminal Investigations Branch laid criminal charges against Scott following an incident at a resort in Montego Bay, St. James on Thursday, September 27.

He has been charged with illegal possession of firearm, illegal possession of ammunition two counts of assault with intent to rob, two counts of rape and two counts of grievous sexual assault.

Reports are that about 11:15 p.m., Scott forcibly entered the hotel room of two females, who are nationals of the United States, brandished a firearm before sexually assaulting the two women.

It is reported that one of the women relieved him of the weapon and shot him before he escaped.

Following investigations Scott was arrested and charged.

He is scheduled to attend the St. James parish court on Wednesday, October 10.
