A man who allegedly stabbed a woman was fatally shot by a police officer, at the bus park, in Mandeville, Manchester, yesterday.

Dead is 32 year old Cruise Palmer, otherwise known as “Fatta” a clothes vendor of St. Johns Road, Spanish Town in St. Catherine.

Reports are that about 11:00 a.m., the man attacked the woman and stabbed her in the head with a knife.

A policeman observed the incident and intervened.

During the confrontation, Palmer was shot.

Both wounded persons were taken to hospital where palmer was pronounced dead and the woman admitted for treatment.

Residents have praised the policeman, for saving the woman’s life.

The matter is being investigated by the inspectorate and professional standards oversight bureau and the Independent Commission of Investigations (Indecom).

And, persons who witnessed, or have video footage of, the fatal shooting incident in Mandeville, Manchester yesterday, are being urged to contact the Indecom.

Commissioner Hugh Faulkner said Indecom’s agents have collected the firearm of the concerned police man, for processing.
