Mayor of Mandeville Donovan Mitchell says, the Manchester Municipal Corporation is taking steps to clamp down on illegal parking and vending in the parish.

Mr. Mitchell says illegal parking causes traffic congestion on major roads in Mandeville.

He says the Municipal Corporation has contracted a wrecking service to move and impound vehicles which are unclaimed after being clamped for over an hour

The mayor highlights that illegal vending is posing a challenge in Mandeville as vendors are using the streets more than the market.

He is also calling for heavier fines for illegal vending.

He was speaking at the Manchester Chamber of Commerce’s monthly meeting held at the Golf View Hotel in Mandeville on yesterday.
