Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho says his Spanish tax fraud case relating to his time in charge of real Madrid is closed.

He emerged this morning after a brief hearing at a court in the Spanish capital Madrid to say he had paid a fee to settle accusations.

He had been accused of owing nearly €3.3 million euros or $3.8 million US dollars in undeclared image rights revenue.

The hearing came two days before a Manchester United game against Chelsea.
