by September 27th, 2019

The Marine police and JDF Coast Guard are being called upon to search the Palisadoes area, in a bid to recover the body of a young boy who was washed away by flood waters in August Town, St. Andrew on Wednesday.

The third day of searching came to an end this afternoon, with relatives and residents growing desperate to at least recover the body of 9 year old Kyle Richards, so they can have closure.

Councillor for the Papine Division Venesha Phillips says despite the best efforts of the police, family, and residents, diligently combing through the gully, and along the banks of the Hope River, they are yet to locate him.

Ms. Phillips says they are preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best.

In relation to an appeal for the creator of a video showing someone crying for help, Phillips says that person has not yet come forward.

She notes however that after checks, it was found that the video had no connection to the incident of the young boy being washed away.
