The Medical Association of Jamaica (MAJ) has given the Government its stamp of approval on the full reopening of schools this week.
Speaking with IRIE FM news, President of the MAJ, Dr. Brian James explained that the COVID-19 positivity rate has been consistently low over the past two weeks.
He also noted that hospitalizations have decreased significantly.
Given these two factors, he said the conditions are right for schools to reopen.
Dr. James, however, urged stakeholders to ensure that COVID-19 protocols are implemented and followed to prevent outbreaks in the education sector.
