2008 Olympic 400 meters hurdles gold medalist Melanie Walker is targeting a spot on Jamaica’s team for next year’s IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha Qatar.

The 24 year old walker who is back at the MVP track club had left them in 2013 and joined the Racers Track Club before going overseas to train at the Altis world training base in Phoenix, Arizona.

Walker had wanted to pursue her long-time dream of running the 100m hurdles which had led to a falling out with Coach Stephen Francis.

However walker has now have a change of heart and is now concentrating on a return in the 400 hurdles an event she also won at the 2009 world championships in 52.34 seconds the second fastest time by a woman over the distance.

Walker made her first outdoor appearance at last Saturday’s Queens Grace Jackson meet when she contested the 200 meters says she it will take a little time to get back to where she once was but is confident.
