This will remain in effect until five o clock tomorrow afternoon.

A persistent trough across the central Caribbean continues to influence weather conditions across Jamaica.

Observational data indicates that light to moderate showers and isolated thunderstorms occurred across sections of most parishes throughout this afternoon and are expected to linger into the night.

The forecast is for light to moderate, and at times heavy showers, to continue into Tuesday night, across most parishes.

Light to moderate morning showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected across sections of north-central and eastern parishes, with moderate to heavy afternoon showers and thunderstorms across sections of most parishes.

A flash flood watch means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the met service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a warning is issued.
