Senior investigators in the St. Catherine North Police Division and the Major Investigation Division have been tasked with probing the murder of Pastor James Johnson.

This was revealed by Minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang as he condemned the murder.

The pastor was killed inside the Church of God of Prophecy National Headquarters on Old Harbour Road, St. Catherine on Thursday.

Dr. Chang said he is anticipating the reports, and the arrest of the criminals who killed Johnson.

He is urging all persons with any information concerning this gruesome act to come forward and share their information with the police.

The minister said the invasion of a sacred place of worship, is utterly reprehensible.

He said Johnson will be remembered as a bright, passionate Jamaican who was engaged in his community, his church and nation-building.

Police reports indicate that 29-year-old Johnson was attacked inside the church and was subsequently pronounced dead at the Spanish Town Hospital.
