Minister of Health, Horace Dalley has instructed the management of the Kingston Public and Victoria Jubilee hospitals and the South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA), to halt all action being taken to bury the bodies of the babies that have been in the morgue, some since January this year.

This directive follows media reports yesterday (November 28, 2015) that the hospitals attempted to bury the bodies of more than 80 babies.

Mr Dalley has requested that a detailed clarification of the circumstances be made before any further burials can proceed.

The Health Minister says he has summoned the management of the hospitals and SERHA to a meeting at the Ministry today to discuss the matter.
