by June 18th, 2018

The St. James Municipal Corporation is reminding citizens that it has a structured system for payments and collection of monies.

This in the wake of media reports elsewhere that some police officers from Montego Bay allegedly targeted business operators in the second city, purporting to collect money on behalf of the corporation.

Mayor of Montego Bay Homer Davies says the corporation wants to distance itself from the allegations of corruption.

He says all monies owed to the corporation are paid directly to the accounts department.

Meanwhile, when contacted today representatives of MOCA West, confirmed that 2 police officers were arrested recently, and they are being interviewed.

A third cop is on the run.

The MOCA representative was unable to state how the allegations relating to the St. James Municipal Corporation came about.

Irie FM News understands that on Thursday, June 14, a sting operation was set up in Montego Bay, during which 2 policemen were held, while a third fled the scene.
