Montague calls on new constables to help counteract corruption

National Security Minister Robert Montague says the newly installed constables must join hands with the Ministry of National Security and the Police Commissioner to counteract corruption in the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

The minister, was addressing 147 new constables at the passing out and awards ceremony, at the National Police College of Jamaica in Kingston today (May 12).

He says, the new graduates are joining the JCF at a critical time as the force is undergoing an important phase of its transformation and modernization.

He says one of the greatest hindrance in the country is corruption and the newly installed constables, should stand up against corruption no matter the consequences.

The minister says members of the JCF must strive to confront their problems and conquer them.

He says the constables must apply training techniques received to assess everyday situations.
