Acting Mayor of Montego Bay, councillor Richard Vernon, says Jamaica’s agriculture sector, needs to be revolutionized, using technology, to attract more young people.
Speaking at the Montpelier Agricultural Show in St. James on Monday, Councillor Vernon underscored, that for agriculture to be sustainable, the youth must be fully engaged in it.
He emphasized that the youth must play a greater role in the sector.
He said agriculture must be seen as a viable career option, and not as a back up plan.
