Morant Bay Mayor appeals for help

by May 15th, 2017

Mayor of Morant Bay Lenworth Rawle says the St. Thomas Municipal Corporation is seeking assistance to clear a major landslide in a section of the parish, as residents have been cut off for three weeks now.

The Mayor says the landslide has cut off access to Cunnu Cunnu pass as a result of heavy rains in St. Thomas.

Speaking with Irie FM News this afternoon (May 15), Mr. Rawle is appealing to local authorities in Portland for help.

In the meantime, the Mayor says residents have expressed concerns over the erosion of the roadways as a result of heavy rain.

This as several roadways are being affected, most of which are the responsibility of the National Works Agency (NWA).
