Motorists urged to be cautious on the roads this Easter

by April 15th, 2022

The Jamaica Fire Brigade is calling on motorists to be careful on the roads throughout the Easter break. This, as the country, continues to see a high number of road fatalities.

Since the start of the year, 130 people have died on the nation’s roads.

Speaking to Irie FM News this morning, Acting Public Relations Officer for the Jamaica Fire Brigade Kerry Gayl Forbes called on motorists to be cautious as the number of road fatalities is impacting the brigade.

He is appealing to motorists to drive defensively.

He called on motorcyclists to desist from performing stunts while traversing the roads.

Mr. Forbes’ call follows concerns raised by Deputy Superintendent at the brigade Rohan Powell this week, over the completion of the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000.

Mr. Powell has expressed fear that the completion of the highway will lead to more accidents in the island.
