Mount Pleasant are the new leaders in the Red Stripe National Premier Football League.

It comes after they rolled past Vere united 2 nil last night in their match day 21 clash at Drax hall.

Cardel Benbow opened the scoring for the st Ann out-fit in minute in minute 44, before Kemar Beckford doubled the lead in the 73rd minute, as Mount Pleasant chalked up their 12th win of the campaign.

The St Ann team now leads on 40 points and overtook previous leaders Waterhouse who were held to a two all draw by UWI FC at Drewsland.

Colorado Murray put Waterhouse ahead after 18 minutes, but UWI came roaring back through Thorn Simpson who put them level at the one hour mark, and Simpson added one more to grant his team the lead at 2-1.

However that lead was short-lived when Murray was back on the scoresheet in the 71st minute as Waterhouse held on for a share of the point.

At the Spanish Town Prison oval humble lion blanked defending champions Portmore United 2-nil and climbed into third spot.

Elsewhere goals in either half from Shevan James and Andre mc-farlane guided Dunbeholden to a similar 2-nil blanking of cavalier at the royal Lakes playfield, while Tivoli climbed to 8th spot with a 3-nil crushing of Harbour view at the Edward Seaga sports complex.
