Operators of Micro, Small, and Medium-sized businesses are being reminded that they can be part of the Special Economic Zone.

During today’s sitting of the Senate, Opposition Member, Dr. Andre Haughton raised concern, about the participation of some business operators in the SEZ, as this would demonstrate government’s commitment to supporting MSME’s.

Leader of Government Business in the Senate Kamina Johnson Smith, pointed out, that this facility is already available to operators.

She acknowledged, that the government needs to do more public advisories on the SEZ, as it would appear, that many business operators are unaware of how they can participate.

Mrs. Johnson Smith said, the operators will be required to be incorporated, and have a business plan.
