The number of people murdered in the country since the start of the year, is inching closer to 700

This as 683 murders have been recorded as at Saturday June 18.

This is 13 more than the 670 recorded, in the corresponding period, last year (2021).

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the St. James police division recorded the highest number of murders, with 107, followed by St. Catherine north with 72.

Portland recorded the least number of murders with 5, followed by St. Thomas with 17.
