NAJ says about 100 nurses are in quarantine

Some one hundred nurses are in quarantine, adding to the pressure facing those remaining on the job, attending to Covid 19 cases.

There has been significant daily increases in Covid cases with 589 persons hospitalized, 179 of them are moderately ill, 90 are severely ill and 59 are critically ill.

President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica, Patsy Edwards Henry says about 50 percent of the nurses in quarantine represent confirmed cases.

Mrs. Henry indicates that community spread has contributed to nurses contracting virus and that nurses are not dropping their guard while off the job.

Mrs. Henry reiterates her call for citizens to obey the Covid-19 protocols in order to curtail the spread of the virus.
