by May 11th, 2017

Former St Jago star sprinter Natalliah Whyte smashed her previous personal best over 200 metres to book her spot in the final of the Southeasten Conference (SEC) Outdoor Track & Field championships last night in Colombia, North Carolina.

The Auburn University freshman finished second in her heat behind University of Florida’s Kyra Jefferson, who won with a time of 22.43 seconds.

Whyte clocked an impressive 22.74 shaving a huge chunk off of her previous best of 23.36 set in 2014.

The mark also sets a freshman record for the auburn tigers.

This is only the 19 year old’s second individual race of the season after finishing 6th in 23.42 at the war eagle invitational three weeks ago.

The final is set for Saturday at 4:45pm Jamaican time.
