NDM Still In The Running

The National Democratic Movement (NDM) says the party will be participating in the upcoming General Election.

Chairman of the party, Michael Williams states that the movement is preparing at least five candidates for the upcoming election.

He explains that a party meeting will be held this evening to determine the number of candidates and their constituencies.

He says the candidates will be announced afterwards.

 

And while there is speculation that the Prime Minster could soon announce General Election, the chairman says this year is not the appropriate timing for the announcement of a General Election.

 

The National Democratic Movement was formed in 1995 by former Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) Leader, Bruce Golding.

In the 2011 elections, the party gained 265 votes.

It has never won a seat in parliament.
