Nearly 300 Road Deaths

282 people have died on the nation’s roadways since the start of the year.

These fatalities resulted from 262 accidents, between January 1 and Thursday, October 8.

The National Road Safety Council (NRSC), says motorcyclists account for the most fatalities, with 86 deaths.

Pedestrians followed with 67 fatalities.

The NRSC says since this week, 6 people died in motor vehicle accidents.

The 4 men and 2 women, died from accidents in 4 parishes – one accident each in St Ann, St James, and St Catherine, while three were recorded in Clarendon.
