The police are yet to determine a motive for the murder of a man and woman, in Mansfield Heights, more popularly known as Fauklands, in Ocho Rios St. Ann.

The decomposing bodies of 25-year-old Vanessa Murray, a bartender, and Aldin Smith otherwise called ‘Mac’, were found this morning (Oct 13).

Residents believe the couple might have been killed from Sunday when explosions were heard in the community.

Relatives reportedly alerted the police this morning when they were told of the killing of the couple.

Irie FM News understands that the relatives were told by a friend who visited the couple’s home and saw evidence that the bodies were inside deteriorating.

According to commanding officer for St. Ann, Superintendent Gary Francis the police are yet to find a motive for the killings.

Superintendent Francis also spoke to the policing efforts in the crime hotspot of Fauklands.

When Irie FM News visited the scene, relatives and residents were gathered expressing shock at the killings.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the bodies had bullet wounds, one of which was to the head.

Meanwhile, relatives of the murdered couple reacted with shock and dismay at the incident.

When Irie FM News visited the community known as Afghanistan, the crime scene tape was wrapped around two trees, blocking off onlookers.

Three police officers guarded the area. It was hard to see the concrete and board house where the couple lived as it was located on a hill with other similar looking dwellings around it.

Residents were tight-lipped, some saying they did not know what happened but that they heard that bodies were found. A resident later indicated to our news team where the relatives of the couple were.

Irie FM News learnt that Smith used to hustle at the Ocho Rios bus park and his girlfriend, according to some residents, troubled no one.

Sitting in disbelief are Vanessa’s sister and mother, who were heartbroken.

Meantime, a relative of the deceased man says Smith was not seen since Sunday and friends kept asking for him.

She says she got the dreadful news this morning.
