No Spectators for Reggae Boyz vs Canada Clash – Tappa disappointed.

by October 6th, 2021

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has suffered another body blow in their quest for the Reggae Boyz to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup finals.

This as Local Government Minister the Honorable Desmond Mckenzie has announced that football fans will not be able to be physically present at Jamaica’s world cup qualifying match between The Reggae Boyz and Canada inside the National Stadium on Sunday October 10.

The Minister says that due to the need to maintain close management of Covid-19, this match will be closed to the public, adding that no exemptions will be granted in respect of the match and no spectator, vaccinated or unvaccinated, will be allowed into the stadium.

The Minister is also reminding the public that under the current disaster risk management order, Sunday is a no movement day.

The JFF was seeking to have spectators for the match in an effort to earn much needed revenue and to provide the 12th man effect for the national team in the crucial encounter.

Coach Theodore Whitmore says it is disappointing that there will be no fans in the stands on Sunday.
