The board of the National Solid Waste Management Authority has commended the agency for a satisfactory performance, despite several challenges with disposal sites.

Chairman Dennis Chung told Irie FM News that among the good performance areas is the agency being up to date with its audited accounts.

The matter was discussed at a recent board meeting.

He said the agency also worked hard to be in compliance with governance requirements.

He said one challenge faced by the authority is, what he describes as, people sabotaging the fire suppression system at the Riverton disposal site.
