Nurses return to work

by November 24th, 2017

The Nurses Association of Jamaica and the government are heading back to the negotiating table.

Nurses across the island have been calling in sick or not reporting for duty as a means of forcing the government over the wage and fringe benefits offer.

The nurses have rejected the cumulative offer of a six percent increase over the life of the 2017/2019 contract period.

Following widespread disruption in the health sector the Ministry of Labour summoned the parties to a meeting to resolve the impasse

President of the Nurses Association of Jamaica Carmen Johnson says a new date is to be set for talks.

The NAJ President says normality should return to tomorrow morning.
