by November 23rd, 2017

The National Works Agency (NWA) is hoping to restore normality to several road sections of Montego Bay, St. James impacted by flood rains, by tomorrow (Nov 24).

The agency started clean up activities in a section of the city this morning, following yesterday’s flood rains.

Community relations officer at the NWA Western Region, Janel Rickets, says attention is being given to clearing drains and removing downed trees in sections of the city.

Meantime, the NWA will be conducting work on the north gully in Montego Bay with a view to have the area cleared.

Earlier today, Mayor of Montego Bay Homer Davis expressed fear that the city could experience similar fate as yesterday, if the north gully is not cleaned.

Ms. Rickets says, work should get started on the north gully by tomorrow morning.
