The Ocho Rios Post Office in ST Ann, is to undergo major renovation.

The Post and Telecommunications Department says, the planned renovation  will result in  postal operations being relocated, to the Ocean Village Shopping  Center.

Since Tuesday, residents have been collecting their mail, from a mobile unit parked in front of the post office.

Its expected, that operations will start at the new location, Thursday. The Tourism Enhancement Fund, TEF, is funding the renovations.

Public Relations Officer at the Post and Telecommunications Department ,  Kathy -Ann Yetman, says its anticipated, that the repairs will last between six months and a year .

The work will be done on  a number of areas, including the  roof.

Meantime, Ms Yetman says arrangements will be made for persons with private letter boxes  at the new location.

This, as  they will not be able to access them at  the post office.
