The medal puts Jamaica joint seventh on the medal standings with Bahamas and Trinidad. The table is being led by Mexico with 50 medals, including 18 gold, 13 silver and 19 bronze.

All Jamaica and Caribbean champion Chris Binnie booked a spot in the semi-final of the men’s squash event, Binnie beat Noah Browne of Bermuda 11-6, 11-8, 11-4.

The Jamaican male hockey team suffered a similar fate to their female compatriots after losing one nil to Barbados earlier this afternoon in their opening game. In women’s football Jamaica’s under 20 reggae girls suffered their second loss in three days, after losing 2-1 to Costa Rica in women’s football action.
