Reigning Olympic champion Omar Mcleod rebounded from Saturday’s Diamond League disappointment by storming to victory in the men’s 110 meters high hurdles at the Istvan July Memorial in Hungary today.
Mcloud the national champion clocked a meet record 12.96 seconds to win the event ahead of world champion Sergey Shubenkov of Russia 13.01 while world record holder Aries Merrit was third in 13.11seconds.
Andrew riley was 6th in 13.39 seconds
Former Herbert Morrison high star Remona Burchell ran well to capture the silver medal in the women’s 100 meters.
Morrison clocked 11.15 seconds to finish behind Nigerian blessing Okabare who ran 11.11 seconds
Meanwhile NCAA champion Chris Ann Gordon was a third place finisher in the women’s 400 meters.
The former Holmwood Technical star clocked 51.05 seconds while Verone chambers was 8th in 54.06 seconds.
The event won by Olympic champion Shanuae Miller of the Bahamas in 49.86 seconds.
Leah Nugent was a fourth place finisher in the women’s 400 meters in 55.56 seconds behind winner Kori Carter of the United States in 54.22 seconds
Fitzroy Dunkley clocked 46.43 seconds for a seventh place finish in the men’s 400 meters as Steven Gardener of the Bahamas won in 44.61 seconds
Damar Forbes leapt 7.65 meters to finish 7th in the men’s long jump as the event was won by Rushwai Samaai of South Africa who leapt 8.34 meters
In the meantime former Olympic champion Justin Gatlin took the men’s 100 meters in 9.98 seconds
