One Green Island High student arrested for attack on bus driver

The Hanover police have arrested one of the male students of Green Island High School, who reportedly attacked a bus driver on Wednesday.

It’s reported that the child was handed over to the police by a parent.

Head of the Hanover police Superintendent Sharon Beeput says the student is being questioned.

Meantime, efforts continue to locate the other boys involved in the attack.

The police were given their identities by the school.

Reports are that on March 7, a group of male students attacked the bus driver with knives and a meat cleaver, as well as hurled stones at the bus damaging windows.

A video of the incident is being circulated on social media.

A meeting involving the police and school staff was held on Friday, at which Superintendent Beeput assured that efforts will be made to prevent any more incidents of violence involving school children in the parish.
