One of Portland’s most wanted men was captured this morning (January 18).
Elroy Griffiths, otherwise called ‘Greg’ who was wanted for a 2019 murder, was captured at about 5 this morning in Canewood District in Hope Bay, Portland.
Head of Operations for the Portland Police Deputy Superintendent Velonique Campbell said Griffiths was apprehended along with a woman.
The police say Griffiths was being sought for the August 20, 2019 murder of 50-year-old Maureen Johnson.
Reports are that Johnson was stabbed during a domestic dispute and her house set ablaze.
Her charred remains were later found.
Meanwhile, DSP Campbell is reminding residents that anyone found harbouring fugitives will be penalized.
