One woman is dead, while 5 other persons remain hospitalized in serious condition, following a motor vehicle accident along the Spring Gardens/ Unity Hall main road in St. James this morning (May 10).

The identity of the dead woman is being withheld, as her family is yet to be notified.

Head of operations in the St. James police division, Superintendent Gary McKenzie, says about 10:40 a.m. a white Nissan sunny motor car, reportedly overtook a line of traffic and collided with a Honda motor car travelling towards Hanover.

The 65 year old woman who died was traveling in the Honda motor car.

Superintendent McKenzie is imploring motorists to slow down while traversing the nation’s roadways.
