A one-year-old girl was shot and wounded at her home on Hanover Street, in Kingston this morning (December 27, 2021).

One man was also killed during the incident.

He has been identified as 22-year-old Anthony Campbell otherwise called ‘Ants Man’, a labourer of Hanover street.

Reports from the Kingston Central police are that about 1:30 AM, residents heard explosions and summoned them.

Upon the arrival of the team, checks were made and Campbell was found lying on a bed inside his house with multiple gunshot wounds.

The one-year-old girl was also found with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital where Campbell was pronounced dead and the toddler admitted for treatment.

Police say her condition is stable.

Meanwhile, police are investigating three murders that occurred across the island on Sunday.

In the first incident, 56-year-old Michael East, a labourer of Two River district in St. Andrew was stabbed to death.

Reports from the Constant Spring police are that about 4:30 AM, residents found East’s body along a dirt track off the Rose Hill main road and summoned them.

The body was seen with several stab wounds and lacerations. The scene was processed and the body was removed to the morgue pending a post mortem.

Meantime, a construction worker was shot and killed whilst working at a site on Federal Avenue, in Kingston 8.

He has been identified as 32-year-old Lloyd Vernon otherwise called ‘Randy’, of Callaloo Mews, in Kingston 20.

Reports are that about 12:30 PM, Vernon was outside a premises mixing cement when he was pounced upon by a gunman who opened fire hitting him.

The police were summoned and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Later at about 11: 55 PM, 51-year-old Delroy Green of Lakes Pen in Quarry hill, St. Catherine was shot and killed in his community.

Residents summoned the police after hearing explosions. Upon their arrival, Green was seen lying on the roadway next to a white Toyota Corolla, with gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at hospital.
