by October 6th, 2021

Opposition Spokesman on Health Dr. Morais Guy has accused Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton of not being truthful and forthright with citizens about the availability of the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Dr. Guy said Dr. Tufton told the Jamaican people recently that the Pfizer vaccine was exhausted and unavailable for the second dose.

However, the Opposition said it has received credible information that the second doses of the Pfizer vaccine were administered yesterday (October 5) at the Thompson Town Health Centre in Clarendon.

He said a similar situation occurred at the Kitson Town Health Centre in the constituency of Dr. Tufton.

Dr. Guy has expressed concern about the issue.

He says Dr. Tufton must assure the country that the vaccination programme, is not compromised.

Meantime, responding to questions during a Post Cabinet press briefing this morning (October 6), regarding social media posts advising persons that Pfizer second doses are being administered, Information Minister Fayval Williams said persons should only trust information from the Health Ministry.
