A call is being made for the Government to conduct an investigation into the recent deaths of several of the nation’s educators.

In recent weeks, the country has lost about 9 of its educators.

The number grew following the recent death of a teacher from the St. Peter and Paul Preparatory School in Kingston.

The Paramount Preparatory Academy in St. Mary also reported that it has lost one of its educators.

Speaking with IRIE F-M news, Opposition Spokesperson on Education, Dr. Angela Brown-Burke said steps must be taken to find the root cause of the deaths, so appropriate initiatives can be implemented, if necessary.

She reiterated that educators should prioritize their health, adding that the Government should play a part in ensuring this.
