Opposition criticises Govt for handling of wage talks

by March 14th, 2018

The Opposition People’s National Party has continued its criticism of the government, over its handling of wage talks with public sector unions.

The government is introducing a four year contract period as opposed to a customary two year negotiating cycle

It has also opted to pay the first year’s increase despite some members not signing on.

In parliament this afternoon, Opposition Spokesperson on Labour Horace Dalley says the government has dropped the ball on the wage talks.

Mr. Dalley warns that the actions of the government is a slap in the face of workers and sets a dangerous precedent.
