Opposition Spokesman on National Security Fitz Jackson has described the imposition of a third state of emergency, this time in Kingston and St. Andrew as unfortunate.

The Opposition PNP has long criticised the Government for using the measures that are meant for extreme situations, to fight crime, at the risk of normalisation, with adverse impacts on the economy as well as citizens’ rights.

Mr. Jackson lamented that nothing has been done in the other areas under a state of emergency in St. James and St. Catherine over the past 9 months.
